Blooston Rural Carriers Seek Reconsideration of CAF/ICC Order’s Mobility Fund RulesBloostonLaw, on behalf of its clients, the Blooston Rural Carriers, has filed a Petition for Reconsideration of the Mobility Fund portion of the FCC’s Connect America Fund (CAF)/Intercarrier Compensation (ICC) Order. This recon petition is separate from the Petition for Review that BloostonLaw filed on behalf of Choctaw Telephone Company (Halltown, Missouri) in a federal appeals court (BloostonLaw Telecom Update, December 14, 2011). In its recon petition filed with the FCC, the Blooston Rural Carriers argue that the Mobility Fund has been set up with reverse auction procedures and other aspects that will significantly harm the chances of rural wireless carriers to obtain access to funding.
